The following poem I wrote when I was
working in Makassar and got inspired by the People, sea, Angin Mamiri and the
Makassar scenery in general. I hope somebody likes it.

| Oh, I wish I could be like the sea So, from the shore you would look at me And when your beauty is floating in me Then I enjoy the time you are sharing with me I send my waves gently touching your skin And make you to be my sweet little queen But you don’t know how my feelings are for you And all I can do is to dream about you Oh, I wish to be like the sea Can’t you see that I need you with me? If clouds could whisper and waves could love Then we would be higher then the sky above If only clouds could whisper and the wind could shout Then they could tell you what this is all about But I am only like a blue ocean And I’m so full of emotion When you’re angry, I turn into a storm But don’t worry this is just the natures norm Oh, I wish I could be like the sea Don’t you know that I need you near me. When you’re worried I change my color, oh dear But deep inside you know that I’m clear For you must know somehow what I feel for you For there is not much more I can do for you When you sleep, I rest in deep darkness Only some stars reflecting in me While I know that the only star I love Is when you are so close to me. Oh, I wish to be like the sea Don’t you know that the one who loves you is me I know, all I can do is dream about you About my sweet love in a far distance But just to see you and think about you Makes it look as my dreams come through Oh, I wish I could be like the sea And gently wrap you into my gusty waves For when you would be with me I would not have to feel like a slave Oh, I want so much feeling like the sea And wish that you would stay forever with me.
